The Doctor Max Thorek Student Loan Fund, Inc.

A Division of the International College of Surgeons

The Dr. Max Thorek Student Loan Fund is a revolving loan program available to medical students and surgical residents in training in amounts of up to $10,000 per recipient. Established by the Founder of the International College of Surgeons, Dr. Max Thorek, funds are only available as old loans are repaid. Application can be made as soon as the first semester of medical school.

When applying, please complete both the application form and promissory note (download using the links below) in their entirety with proper school certification before returning. Signing the loan agreement (promissory note) now will speed up the approval and disbursement process. The due date will be filled in when the loan is actually granted and a check is issued.

As the loan agreement stipulates, you will be required to purchase life insurance naming the loan fund beneficiary prior to receiving any funds. Proof of insurance and that the Loan Fund has been named a beneficiary must be provided prior to issuance of any funds. We will provide 60 days notice prior to loan disbursement for you to meet this requirement. Please note that a policy naming the Fund beneficiary for $10,000 is necessary to cover principal and any accrued interest.

In order to avoid any delays, please make sure that all forms are completed and signed where required. Call Nick Rebel at 312-787-1608 if you have any questions.
