Prof. Kazem Fathie

ICS US Section Past President, Prof. Kazem Fathie of Las Vegas, received a Presidential Recognition Award from Dr. Jay Bachicha during the 2010 Annual Meeting in Denver on May 7th. This award acknowledged the tremendous contributions that Dr. Fathie has made not only to ICS, but also to humanity. Dr. Fathie was President of the US Section in 2001.

Dr. Fathie is also the Chairman of the Board for the American Academy of Neurological and Orthopedic Surgeons, which has been holding its Annual Scientific Meeting with the US Section for 5 of the last 6 years. The collaboration with this group has provided a significant amount of additional educational opportunity for ICS members who are Orthopaedic or Neurosurgical specialists.
 
Over the years Dr. Fathie has also demonstrated incredible compassion in his role as a physician and healer. He has received numerous humanitarian awards from a number of organizations, including 39 times as the Paul Harris Humanitarian Award recipient through Rotary International. His humanitarian endeavors certainly demonstrate what membership in the ICS is all about.
