The Dr. Arno A. Roscher Annual Endowed Lecture

From his time of acceptance as a Fellow in 1968, Dr. Arno A. Roscher became extremely active on both the national and international level of ICS. He has served on various committees throughout the years and has also served as President and Regent of the California State Chapter of ICS. He has also been a Vice President and Representative at Large of the US Section and has served as an ICS World Vice President & Governor. In 2004, Dr. Roscher was awarded an Honorary Fellowship in the College for his life-long commitment to its mission and goals. Dr. Roscher established an Endowed Lecture at the end of 2008 with a generous contribution of $100,000. The first Dr. Arno Roscher Lecture was presented in June of 2009 in Montreal during the North American Federation Congress. This year's meeting will feature the 10th presentation of the Dr. Arno Roscher Endowed Lecture.

Dr. Arno Roscher’s medical career has spanned more than 50 years.  His vocation began in surgery and culminated in surgical and clinical pathology.  His extensive and diverse experience is well documented.

Dr. Roscher’s medical career features a plethora of accomplishments including: serving as Director of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at two distinguished Los Angeles area hospitals; Granada Hills Community Hospital, and the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. 

He is extensively recognized as an innovative author and presenter of scientific papers covering topics in radiation pathology, surgical oncology, cardiac revascularization pathology associated with aorto-coronary bypass procedures, laser pathology and hemotological subjects like idiopathic thrombocytopenic pupura.

Since 1968, Dr. Roscher has served the International College of Surgeons diligently and has held numerous positions at both the national and international level. He currently serves as an ICS World Governor. Dr. Roscher was also the founding sponsor of an exhibit, bearing his name, featuring genetics in surgery and medicine at the International Museum of Surgical Science, a Division of ICS, in Chicago. Dr. Roscher is currently also on the editorial board for the Journal of the International College of Surgeons.
